Arizona EAA VMC Club KCHD

Our next meeting is May 1st, 6pm in the terminal meeting room. We will return to our normal scenario based discussion. Feel free to bring food and/or beverage, and please invite a fellow pilot to join you. Register using this link

As mentioned, we will re-examine the meeting time and day before we break for summer to make sure it is working for as many as possible to attend on a regular basis. Meetings are designed to run about 60-75 minutes, but discussions have gone well over 2 hours most meetings, so the hope is to have a start time that isn’t too early for those of you driving any distance, but also not too late that you can’t get home at a reasonable time. Please give it some thought, a survey will probably be sent out after our June meeting, and any changes will take place starting with our September club meeting following summer break.

Every 3rd or 4th meeting we like to deviate from our scenario format. If you, or someone you know would be interested in presenting at a future meeting, or if you have a suggestion for a local field trip, please contact me so we can add it to the calendar.

As mentioned, our VMC club maintains a Facebook Page in order to relate club information, share links to aviation related information and events around the area, as well as a daily safety post. Please note that a Facebook membership is not required to view any of the content on our page. Just visit

Thank you to the Arizona pilots Association for their support and spreading the word about the VMC club. More information regarding this fine organization, calendar of events, and membership information can be found at

The VMC club is made possible by the EAA. For more information about the VMC program visit

Thank you,

Additional Event Information & Acknowledgement of Industry Sponsor(s):
This event is sponsored and hosted by the Local EAA/VMC Club and the FAA Safety Team.

What is the EAA/VMC Club?

The EAA/VMC Club is modeled after the popular IMC Club concept which provides organized “hangar flying” focused on building proficiency in instrument flying. The EAA/VMC Club will do the same, but for pilots who are not instrument rated and fly primarily under visual flight rules and VMC.

What is the purpose of EAA/VMC Club?

At EAA/VMC Club, our aim is to promote VFR flying, proficiency, and safety. Along with monthly local meetings, we offer a resource-rich website which provides an electronic experience base.

Our intent is to create a community of pilots to share information, provide recognition, foster communications, promote safety and build proficiency in general aviation. EAA/VMC Club offers monthly meetings in which pilots can network and share knowledge and experiences.

Do you need to bring anything?

First, bring your thoughts or story and be willing to share them with the group. This meeting is very interactive. Participation by the group is a fundamental element of the EAA/VMC Club meeting.

Others have found it helpful to bring along a copy of their flight manual, GPS manual, and charts. If you navigate with an iPad, bring it along.

Who can attend?

This meeting is open to all current, non-current, and future pilots.
