It's Spring, and time to dust off some of those tired flying brain cells. Join us at the Sierra Vista Public Works Departm ent at 401 Guilio Cesare Ave in Sierra Vista from 9AM to Noon on April 21st for interactive seminars related to aviation decision making. We will do o ne VFR and on IFR scenario with audience participation, and a refresher on key aeronautical knowledge elements.

You need JavaScript enabled to view it. ) PRIOR TO the event date if you need transportation. First time to Sierra Vista and the R-airspace? Check NOTAMs and listen to ATIS. If the tower is closed, KFHU is an uncontrolled airport with the tower freq as CTAF, and no restricted airspace. Tower open? Call approach/radar outside the R-airspac e and they will guide you in. Best is to follow Hwy 90 southbound from Bens on and below 8000' to the airport. The civilian ramp is on the north side o f the airfield.
Driving: from the intersection of Fry Blvd & SR 92 drive east 1 mile on SR 90; turn north on Guilio Cesare, then 4 blocks to P ublic Works parking on the right. Look for event signs.

This program will run f rom 9 AM to Noon. If you need transportation from the airport, you should b e inside the terminal building no later than 8:30am to allow time to get fr om the airport to the meeting.

Re stricted Area (R2303A/B/C) and tower are normally not active on weekends - but check NOTAMs for changes. If active, contact APP (127.05), follow ATC i nstructions; otherwise treat as non-tower arrival on CTAF (124.95). Rwy 26, 30, and 21 are right-traffic. South side of airport is for military only. Park on north side of airport in GA Parking east of terminal. Volunteers wi ll be in the terminal to assist you with transportation to the event.
Notes: ASOS on 119.675 has been decomissioned. Weather is on ATIS - 134.75 . Restricted Area R-2312 to south of airfield is always active (24/7), surf ace to 15,000 MSL.
