 rk crew found the airstrip overgrown with weeds. The heavy rains and warm w
 eather we had a few weeks ago really gave a boost to the growth in the exis
 ting cracks. This growth is beyond what torching or other methods used to p
 repare cracks prior to sealing can effectively correct. Regional Pavement h
 as agreed to work with us at a future date when the growth has subsided. Th
 is will likely be sometime in the winter season, which will also provide th
 e best opportunity for an effective seal, since these cracks expand in the 
 cold season.\n\n\nThis will also give us time to raise donations necessary 
 to crack seal and surface seal the entire runway.\n\n\nPlease help spread t
 he word!\n\n\nWe also spoke with District Ranger Jardine today and there is
  a possibility that fire restrictions will be in place by the third weekend
  of May and we may be requested to stand down that weekend. The APA's Annua
 l member meeting will be that same weekend, so please do plan on attending 
 that and hearing about the future of Grapevine and other backcountry airstr
