edgement of Industry Sponsor(s):\nThe AZ FAASTeam is being supported by the
Arizona State University Aviation Education Program. We'd like to recogniz
e Professor Jimmy Kimberly, AZ FAASTeam Rep., Mark O'Brian, Chair Aviation
Program, Dr. James Collofello, Senior Asst. Dean Academic & Student Aff
airs for their personal contribution to the FAASTeam. ASU provides faciliti
es, personnel and logistical support for these FAASTeam seminars.\n\n\n*Pro
fessor Kimberly wil provide tours of the ASU Aviation Education Program fac
ilities and FAASTeam Rep. Ron Diedricks will provide a tour of the ASU Alti
tude Chamber. Sign-up for tours when you sign-in for the seminar.*\n\n\nRun
way incursions are a major factor in aviation safety. While many things hav
e been done to reduce the accident rate in General Aviation and the Air Car
rier Industry, both sides of the aviation house are still experiencing far
too many runway incursions. This could be the result of "Read back - Hear b
ack" issues, poor airport signage, pilot inattention/knowledge or a combina
tion of factors. Runway safety is a major concern for all pilots and if you
have been around aviation for a long period of time you have probably seen
some close calls on the runways and taxiways, or even been involved in som
e yourself. Come learn about this Airport and give your input to the Team s
o they can work on improving the airport for all who fly there.\n\n\n*Semin
ar runs approximately 9am-Noon*\n\n\nPilot airspace deviations continue to
be a major risk in the national airspace system. To reduce the chance that
you might be involved in an airspace deviation incident, you are highly enc
ouraged to take an on-line learning center course such as ALC 42, ALC 154,
and ALC90 on www.faasafety.gov, or search the learning library for associat
ed guidance on airspace incursions. Remember, safe and prudent airmen have
superior situational awareness and have a plan to keep it that way.\n\n\n*
see PDA flyer attached below\n\n\nPDA_Flyer.pdf\n\n\nThanks! A message from
your local FAASTeam.\n\n\nEqual Access Information:\nThe FAA Safety Team (
FAASTeam) is committed to providing equal access to this meeting/event for
