al Event Information & Acknowledgement of Industry Sponsor(s):\nThe AZ
FAASTeam is being supported by the Arizona State University Aviation Educat
ion Program. We'd like to recognize Professor Jimmy Kimberly, AZ FAASTeam R
ep., Mark O'Brien, Aviation Program Chair, and Dr. James Collofello, Senior
Asst. Dean of Academic & Student Affairs, for their personal contribut
ion to the FAASTeam. ASU provides facilities, personnel and logistical supp
ort for these FAASTeam seminars.\n\n\n*Professor Kimberly wil provide tours
of the ASU Aviation Education Program facilities after the seminar. Sign-u
p for tours when you sign-in for the seminar.*\n\n\nRunway incursions are a
major factor in aviation safety. While many things have been done to reduc
e the accident rate in General Aviation and the Air Carrier Industry, both
sides of the aviation house are still experiencing far too many runway incu
rsions. This could be the result of "Read back - Hear back" issues, poor ai
rport signage, pilot inattention/knowledge or a combination of factors. Run
way safety is a major concern for all pilots and if you have been around av
iation for a long period of time you have probably seen some close calls on
the runways and taxiways, or even been involved in some yourself. Come lea
rn about this Airport and give your input to the Team so they can work on i
mproving the airport for all who fly there.\n\n\nPilot airspace deviations
continue to be a major risk in the national airspace system. To reduce the
chance that you might be involved in an airspace deviation incident, you ar
e highly encouraged to take an on-line learning center course such as ALC 4
2, ALC 154, and ALC 90 on www.faasafety.gov. Or search the learning library
for associated guidance on airspace incursions. Remember, safe and prudent
airmen have superior situational awareness and have a plan to keep it that
way. PDA_Flyer.pdf under (Additional Event Documents) below.\n\n\nEqual Ac
cess Information:\nThe FAA Safety Team (FAASTeam) is committed to providing
equal access to this meeting/event for all participants. If you need alter
native formats or services because of a disability, please communicate your
