		 WITH THE APPLICATION (FOREFLIGHT, WI
NGX, FLYQ, or GARMIN PILOT) AND THEIR LEVEL OF PROFICIENCY (NOVICE, INTERME
DIATE, OR ADVANCED) SO THE LEAD FACILITATOR CAN ENSURE THE PROPER FACILITAT
ORS ARE PRESENT.\n\n\nAn electronic flight bag such as Foreflight, WingX, F
lyQ, and Garmin Pilot can greatly increase both situational awareness and s
afety but only if the pilot is proficient in their use. Attempting to learn
the application while you are flying the airplane has the exact opposite e
ffect and can be dangerous. This workshop is intended to make you familiar
with the application so that it is an aid in the cockpit and not a distract
ion.\n\n\nPreflight planning is the first step in a successful and safe fli
ght. Electronic Flight Bags can simplify the process of preflight planning
and bring most of the information you need such as runway lengths, fuel req
uired, expected weather, and other vital information to one place. This wor
kshop will teach you how to use the EFB to efficiently plan your intended f
lights.\n\n\nOnce in the air, situational awareness is the key to the succe
ssful completion of the flight. Learn how the EFB can bring traffic and wea
ther into your cockpit and help you avoid midair collisions and inadvertant
flight into IMC, one of the most deadly mistakes pilots can make - even th
ose with an instrument rating. In addition, your facilitator will cover ove
rall use of the EFB in all phases of flight.\n\n\nRunway incursions continu
e to be a significant problem for the GA community. Come learn how the avia
tion applications covered in this workshop can help, so you do not become t
he next runway incursion statistic.\n\n\nPilot airspace deviations, includi
ng pilots 'busting' TFRs, are another area of concern for the GA community.
The aviation applications covered in this workshop can provide a significa
nt increase in situational awareness with respect to airspace. Learn how to
make use of these tools to ensure you are complying with airspace requirem
ents.\n\n\nEqual Access Information:\nThe FAA Safety Team (FAASTeam) is com
mitted to providing equal access to this meeting/event for all participants
. If you need alternative formats or services because of a disability, plea
se communicate your request as soon as possible with the person in the &ldq
