LOCATION:Grapevine (AZ88) near Roosevelt Lake
DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:\n \n \n\n\n \nOur Grapevine Dinner on Saturday for this eve
nt is Thanksgiving themed! Camp host will prepare the main course. Ca
mpers, please bring a side dish and dessert to share. If anyone
is interested in complimenting the theme, bring items like: stuffing,&
nbsp;rolls, cranberry sauce, corn bread, pumpkin anything,&n
bsp;eggnog, etc.\n\nBesides the fun of fly-in camping, there are a couple o
f airport maintenance items we are going to take care of. We can use a coup
le of volunteers this weekend for the following efforts:\n\n - We just had
all the areas adjacent to the runway mowed. The mower may have kicked some
FOD onto the runway. We need a couple of people to walk the runway for FOD
check.\n - We are going to clear the segmented circle of brush and paint th
e rocks. Bring a pair of work gloves. APA will supply the brushes and paint
.\n - There are a couple of mesquites growing tall next to the runway. We n
eed a couple of people to clear this brush. Bring work gloves and APA will
supply the tools needed.Blue Skies, \n\n\nLeanne\n\n\n \nFriday n
ight: Camp out under the stars!\n\n\nSaturday Night: Join us to camp
under the stars and tell stories around the group campfire! Camp host
will prepare the main course. Campers, please bring a side dish or des
sert to share. \n\n\nSunday: Most folks depart by noon\nATTN: Please,
no motor vehicles, other than APA and USFS support vehicles, are permitted
past the gate at the highway. This is a closed area and only aircraft acces
s is allowed. Help us keep our commitment to the USFS!\n\n\n \n\n\n***

05-603-0306\n\n\nThe Arizona Pilots Association has done an incredible job
saving and rehabilitating Grapevine Airstrip (88AZ). Located on the s
outh shore of Roosevelt Lake, the approach to runway 17 is beautiful.
It gives the boaters on the lake a close-up view of many different aircraf
t as they land on the fantastic asphalt runway. At 3,800 feet long, t
his allows most aircraft to check it out. \n\n\nI am here to invite th
ose interested to enjoy the backcountry flying, camping, and great camarade
rie. On the third Saturday of the month from October to April, Grapev
ine has a hosted weekend fly in and camping. Although not everyone is
able to come in on Friday, there are a few of us that wouldn’t miss it.&nb
sp; I am glad to tell the Friday crowd that the restaurant in Roosevelt is
open again and under new management.\n\n\nOn Saturday, there are plenty of
members and non-members that fly in and love to talk planes, airstrips, and
other exciting adventures! I want to encourage everyone to come out
and join us. Watch out for Mike Andresen, there is always something t
o clean up or work on, and the Grapevine airstrip is maintained only though
donations and volunteer help.\n\n\nAlso, why not stay overnight? The
weekend host(s) will provide the dinner’s main meal and the sides are brou
ght by the other campers. This results in a fantastic, scrumptious, h
eavenly, yummy, luscious, divine, tasty, mouth-watering meal with beautiful
scenery and wonderful sunsets. In September, Jupiter was rising over
the eastern mountain range, competing with Venus in the western sky.\n\n\n
There will be some additions to the weekend. Coming this year, we wil
l have corn hole competitions and other fun activities. Also, how goo
d are you at making a paper airplane? Will it fly? How well wil
l it fly? Won’t you come and join us? Want to be a host?&
nbsp; I’ve had many other suggestions, but I would love to hear from you, t
oo.\n\n\nThis email address is being protected from spambots. You need Java
