SUMMARY:April Pilot Get Together at Douglas
LOCATION: DOUGLAS MUNICIPAL Airport (KDGL)
DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:April Pilot Get Together\n13 April 2024 9AM(ish) at KDGL\n\n\n\n\nPilot Get
-Together at DOUGLAS MUNICIPAL Airport \nMeet at the AIRPORT MUSEUM (north
of the fuel pump and through the gate by the public parking lot)\n \nDrive-
in or Fly-In (but flying is more fun)\nFREE Coffee, donuts & pastries p
rovided\n\n\n\n\nWHY?\nDo YOU feel the need to fly somewhere – but where?\n
OR would you like to meet a few pilots for conversation?\n\n\nIt would be g
reat if you can be there! Feel free to invite others.\n The idea is just to
meet other local pilots and swap information and stories and keep it VERY
informal – NOT a meeting.\nBut if someone suggests flying somewhere just fo
r fun, a few of us might decide to go as well.\n\n\n\n\n\nNikki, the Museum
attendant, has welcomed us to visit the Museum and we'll have a place to e
njoy our coffee....and a restroom is available as well. \nAlso Dave Nevins,
Douglas Tourism Coordinator, is welcoming us and encouraging us to discove
r the history of Douglas and enjoy attractions.\n This is a small but nice
airport history museum that features the Emigh Trojan A-2 that was manufact
ured here in 1949.\n\n\n\nDid you know that Douglas was the very FIRST Inte
rnational Airport in the United States? or\n that Amelia Earhart landed her
e during the Powder Puff Derby air race in August 1929? or \nthat it has be
en in continuous operation since 1929?\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\nSelf-Service AV
GAS is available and the pump is working as well as the cardlock for self-s
erve fuel (currently $6.45/gallon).\n\nIf you have never landed at DOUGLAS
MUNICIPAL (KDGL), here’s some basic info:\n Located on the EAST side of the
city of Douglas.\n\nRunway 03/21 5,760 ft long x 75 ft wide (and newly pav
ed last year)\nNOTE: 21 is LEFT pattern and 03 is RIGHT pattern (may requir
e flying over the border fence into Mexico)\nPattern altitude at 5,200 ft M
SL; CTAF 122.80 (use Bisbee-Douglas AWOS 119.275)\n\n\nCall, email or text
me if you have questions.\nDick Decker\n360 623 9298 email: This email addr
