 rip: Saturday, October 4, 2025\n\n\nOur next weekend getaway for 2025 will 
 be to Monument Valley, UT, from Friday, October 3 - Sunday, October 5. Mike
  McCann and I are organizing this as a joint event for Day Trippers and Wee
 kenders. Day Trippers will join us on Saturday, October 4.\n\n\nHere is the
  itinerary and some important information. Items in Magenta are for day tri
 ppers.\n\n\nNote that all times listed are Mountain Daylight Time (UT time)
 , which is 1 hour later than Mountain Standard Time (most of AZ).\n\n\nFrid
 ay 10/3\n\n - Weekenders should arrive at Monument Valley Airport (UT25) at
  your leisure on Friday morning. Monument Valley is a private airport that 
 requires submission of insurance and pilot/aircraft information prior to ar
 rival. Details will be provided for those interested in attending.\n - Ther
 e is limited tie-down space, so attendance will be limited.\n - Due to high
  terrain south of the airport, the runway is one-way in (landing uphill on 
 16) and one-way out (take-off downhill on 34).\n - Airport elevation is 5,1
 92 feet MSL, so density altitude will be high.\n - Tie-down anchors are pro
 vided but not ropes/chains, so please bring your own ropes.\n - There is no
  fuel available, so please plan accordingly.\n - All lodging, restaurants, 
 and activities are within walking distance of the airport. No ground transp
 ortation will be provided, other than for the Monument Valley tour on Satur
 day.\n - Check-in to the villas at Goulding’s Lodge starts at 3:00 PM, so y
 ou’ll have plenty of free time to hike, eat lunch, take a swim, visit the m
 useum, etc. during the afternoon.\n - We’ll meet for dinner at the Stagecoa
 ch Restaurant.\n - Then do some informal wine tasting while Mike McCann pro
 vides a guided tour of the sky after sunset. (Informal means I’m bringing t
 he wine from home and will pour into plastic cups.)\n - Overnight at Gouldi
 ng’s Lodge (Villas).\n\n \n\n\n \n\n\nSaturday 10/4\n\n - Breakfa
 st on your own.\n - Day trippers should arrive at Monument Valley Airport (
 UT25) no later than 10:30 AM Mountain Daylight time (1 hour later than most
  of AZ). Monument Valley is a private airport that requires submission of i
 nsurance and pilot/aircraft information prior to arrival. We’ve arranged fo
 r a private shuttle tour of Monument Valley which will last between 3-3.5 h
 ours and will include a box lunch. The shuttles will leave Goulding’s at 11
 :00am.  Cost is $100 per person. \n.RSVP FOR THE DAY TRIP HERE.\n - Th

 a couple of historical slide shows plus a John Wayne movie (Stagecoach) at 
 8:00 PM.\n\nSunday 10/5\n\n - Breakfast on your own.\n - Depart for home.\n
 \nFor the day trippers, the cost of the Monument Valley tour and boxed lunc

 ers, I’m estimating the cost for the villas (2 nights), Monument Valley tou
 r, Saturday boxed lunch, and wine tasting to be $800 for singles / $925 for
