April Pilot Get Together
13 April 2024 9AM(ish) at KDGL

Pilot Get-Together at DOUGLAS MUNICIPAL Airport
Meet at the AIRPORT MUSEUM (north of the fuel pump and through the gate by the public parking lot)

Drive-in or Fly-In (but flying is more fun)
FREE Coffee, donuts & pastries provided

WHY?
Do YOU feel the need to fly somewhere – but where?
OR would you like to meet a few pilots for conversation?

It would be great if you can be there! Feel free to invite others.
The idea is just to meet other local pilots and swap information and stories and keep it VERY informal – NOT a meeting.
But if someone suggests flying somewhere just for fun, a few of us might decide to go as well.

Nikki, the Museum attendant, has welcomed us to visit the Museum and we'll have a place to enjoy our coffee....and a restroom is available as well.
Also Dave Nevins, Douglas Tourism Coordinator, is welcoming us and encouraging us to discover the history of Douglas and enjoy attractions.
This is a small but nice airport history museum that features the Emigh Trojan A-2 that was manufactured here in 1949.

Did you know that Douglas was the very FIRST International Airport in the United States? or
that Amelia Earhart landed here during the Powder Puff Derby air race in August 1929? or
that it has been in continuous operation since 1929?

Self-Service AVGAS is available and the pump is working as well as the cardlock for self-serve fuel (currently $6.45/gallon).

If you have never landed at DOUGLAS MUNICIPAL (KDGL), here’s some basic info:
Located on the EAST side of the city of Douglas.

Runway 03/21 5,760 ft long x 75 ft wide (and newly paved last year)
NOTE: 21 is LEFT pattern and 03 is RIGHT pattern (may require flying over the border fence into Mexico)
Pattern altitude at 5,200 ft MSL; CTAF 122.80 (use Bisbee-Douglas AWOS 119.275)

Call, email or text me if you have questions.
