Sedona Airport's Family Fun Day

9 a.m. to 3 p.m. 

Sedona Airport will host a family fun day on September 15, 2012 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. See lots of really cool aircraft - from old military, antiques and restored to new, modern, state of the art arcraft with full glass cockpits. Walk and talk with pilots and learn about the world of aviaiton. Enjoy visiting with emergency helicopter personnel.

And, take a special discounted ride in an airplane or helicopter hosted by Sedona Airport's air tour companies.

Also, enjoy the Sedona Car Club's classic car show with over one hundred really cool, really neat cars from around the state all competing for prizes and awards and your vote for "best".

This year the event has joined forces with Camp Soaring Eagle who will host a complete "kid zone" right in the middle of cars and airplanes. Crafts kids love as well as a stage with singing, skits, a magician, animals from Out of Africa, and, as a fundraiser for Camp Soaring Eagle, play cool carnival games where everyone wins (tickets to buy)

This day should be a wonderful event for the whole family

SAGA Artists to Support Sedona Airport’s 2012 Family Fun Day

SAGA (Sedona Area Guild of Artists), in support of Airport day, will hold a professional art show and sale of work by its Master Signature Artists, Founding and Charter members at the Sedona Airport.  This is a unique opportunity to see the collective works of some of the best artists in Arizona.  On display will be oil, acrylic and watercolor painting, bronze and clay sculpture, fine art photography, textiles/fabric and fine art woodcarving.  The show will be open in the Sedona Airport Terminal Building from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. on Saturday September 15, 2012.  Visitors are invited to participate in “SAGA Time” from 4:00 pm to 6:00 when the artists will be available to tell the stories about what inspired their art.  Bring your children to listen.  Additionally, all visitors may participate in selecting a "Peoples' Choice" and thus become eligible for a drawing for a piece of art by one of the SAGA artists.  Light refreshments will be served.  There is no fee for this show.

All pieces in this show will be fine art, both originals and giclees.  SAGA artists produce art that ranges from what might be called “Industrial Abstract ” in oils, to highly realistic water color, and photographs with so much detail you feel you are inside the scene.  For more information see the SAGA web site at www.SedonaSAGA.com

 On Sept 15, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sedona Airport will be hosting an open house and fly-in along with a state-wide classic car show, food, entertainment, and lots of friendly pilots.www.sedonaairport.org/events

 We will also be showcasing our brand new restaurant, the Mesa Grill at the Sedona Airport which opened last September:  www.sedonaairport.org/dining

 We will be buying everyone, including passengers breakfast or lunch at the Mesa Grill (or CAP food booth) -

((When you land see Al Comello or Bill Kerwin who will have a $10 gift certificate for pilots and their passengers.))

 We are also offering our fuel at the "local" discounted price to all pilots flying in.

 If you own an aircraft and feel it would be a crowd pleaser and want to put it on display, we will buy up to 15 gallons of fuel to help offset some of the cost of flying to Sedona Airport KSEZ. We need 20 or so aircraft to have a good showing – so please do consider sharing your cool aircraft and love of flying with the 2,000+ or so we expect to attend.

 This is Sedona Airport's Major Event for the Year - It's our opportunity to show off and share our airport with the boys and girls, moms and dads, and all the folks from the area to enjoy airplanes, cars, kids activities, food, and the fellowship that pilots, airplane owners and classic car owners are known for..
