Seligman, Arizona (P23) Route 66 Classic & Antique Cars

Join us in Seligman, Arizona to watch THOUSANDS of antique, classic and show cars from around the world drive by at the Historic Route 66 Fun Run. This event is a 100 mile "cruise" from Seligman over to Kingman and the procession of cars leaving from Seligman lasts hours! The airport is right on Historic Route 66, so all we are going to do is land....drag our lawnchairs to the side of the road along with our cooler and enjoy a couple of hours of cool cars. We welcome anyone who just wants to see some really cool cars to bring a lawnchair and join us.

If you have any questions, comments or if I can provide information on AYA events and services, you can visit the AYA website at www.aya.org or just drop me an e-mail or give me a call!

For more info on the Fun Run see http://www.azrt66.com/funrun.htm

UPDATE on May 1st:

Just looked at the AccuWeather forecast for the Four Corners on Saturday & it looks like partly cloudy skies (very high clouds), light winds, unlimited visibility and temperatures in the mid 70's. In other words...a PERFECT day to throw your lawnchairs and snacks in your Grumman and meet us in Seligman, Arizona on Saturday morning, May 4'th for the Historic Route 66 Fun Run. (See Attachment).

Every year, the Historic Route 66 Association of Arizona hosts THOUSANDS of antique, classic and specialty cars of every type as they cruise the 140 miles from Seligman to Topock/Golden Shores along the longest remaining original stretch of Historic Route 66 left in the United States.

The Seligman Airport sits RIGHT ON Route 66 and is RIGHT ON the cruise route as all the vehicles head out on the fun run. Throw your lawnchairs and snacks in your Grumman and then walk to the edge of airport that sits on Rt. 66 and just enjoy the scenery as the convoy of cool cars, vans, Harleys', Indians, etc. drives right past us.

The only cost for the fly-in is the gas you burn on the way and your snacks.

Seligman (P23) is located at 5,235 MSL and has a 4,800 x 75 paved runway, REILS, PAPI, and tiedowns available for our use. The Public Works Manager has waived all tiedown fees, etc. for our group for the entire weekend. NOTE: Seligman has NO FBO and NO FUEL AVAILABLE....so plan accordingly!

If you are looking for a fun way to enjoy a beautiful Northern Arizona early summer morning, join us Saturday morning, May 4'th at Seligman (P23). Be sure to join us the next weekend in Douglas/Bisbee as well.

Blue Skies,

Ken
