11/8/13 This note is just a reminder regarding our November Breakfast Club event to White River, AZ (E24).  Plan on arriving by no later than 0900 and come-up on our “group flight following” frequency of 123.45.  If you have never flown into this airport, there are some things that you should know.  If approaching from any direction other than east, you will not see the airfield until passing over a ridgeline that is adjacent and to the west of the airfield.  As such, I would strongly suggest that you pass over the airfield 500’ above pattern altitude and continue to the east and enter the 45 in a “tear-drop” fashion.  The airport is not attended and thus there is no “local” weather available so we will use the Show Low weather for White River.  You can get the SOW AWOS on 119.075 and use 122.8 while in the airport pattern.  As I remember, the restaurant is in a Best Western motel that is about a 3-4 block walk to the north on the west side of the highway.  As I recall, if wind is no factor, we will use right traffic for runway 01 and pattern altitude is 6200’.  Oh, remember to bring a jacket as it might be a bit cool on Saturday morning.

10/29/2013 update: 
Arrive by 0900 and come-up on 123.45 while in route.  If you have never been to Whiteriver (E24), I advise everyone who approached from any direction other than from the east, to over-fly the airfield at 500 above pattern and continue to the east into a “tear-drop” entry to the 45 for right or left pattern.  Due to the ridge line to the west, one will not see the airfield until you are virtually right over it.
