October 22 Update: CENCELATION OF NEGRITO FLYIN

IMPORTANT IMPORTANT
Negrito 2015 will have to be postponed completely this year. Weather over
the mountains has left the area soggy and access unpredictable. NMPA
regrets the cancellation tremendously and thanks to all who hung in there
this year. Refunds will be processed soon. Be Safe. Cathy

October 14 UPDATE:

New Mexico Pilots Association, Negrito Fly-In POSTPONED again: Forecast for Negrito this weekend is not looking good. Solid thundershowers and pretty continual rain are forecast as well as strong steady wind with gusts up to 30 mph. Frankly, it just doesn't look like a pleasant weekend there.

Accordingly, we are scrubbing this weekend BUT WILL HAVE IT NEXT WEEKEND (10/23 thru 10/25).

Right now the forecast for 10/23, 10/24 and 10/25 is looking very good. Hope most of you can make that date. If you have paid already and can't / don't want to make next weekend, send Cathy an email and we will see that you get a refund.

I am sure sorry that we had to postpone again! But it is important that we try and plan this with the safest conditions possible and this weekend was shaping up to be pretty difficult. Additionally, at 8,000 feet, you want to have the most pleasant weather possible and it definitely will not be that this weekend. Hopefully most of you can make next weekend as the weather does look really promising at this time.

Negrito is near Glenwood, New Mexico - only a hop, skip and jump from Arizona. For those of you who would like to visit the beautiful GILA back country but don't like sleeping in a tent, arrangements can be made in Glenwood (NM55) (only about 15 minute flight from Negrito). The Glenwood Motel (575-539- 2581) is a really beautiful spot with very clean comfortable rooms. In addition, there is the N Bar Dude Ranch that is nearby and you can also make reservations with them (575-533-6253). Make your reservations early though as they fill up pretty quickly at that time of year. Let us know that you want to stay at the Motel or Dude Ranch and we will assist with transportation.
