Additional Event Information & Acknowledgement of Industry Sponsor(s):
Our thanks to the Pima Community College Aviation Technology training facility for the use of their space for this seminar.
New regulations require consumers and commercial users to register all sUAS weighing approximately 1/2 pound or more, using the the FAA online registration system. Compliance with this requirement and the resulting safety procedures are easy for the consumer hobbyist to meet. Commercial and government users have additional requirements to meet. The primary function of the new regulations regarding registration is to help promote a sense of safe use and awareness of the National Airspace System(NAS).
The Tucson FAA Safety Team representatives are holding this safety seminar specifically for the non-pilot community and interested pilots. The official and current FAA information regarding sUAS safe flying practices and integration into the NAS will be presented. All current or potential users of sUAS are welcome to attend.
There will be a door prize of a DJI Phantom awarded by random drawing.. All who attend will receive a raffle ticket as they register at the door on the day of the seminar. The winner must be present to win. WINGS credit for pilots is also available.
Prof. David G Iadevaia, a FAASteam Representative for sUAS will give the presentation, and several other members will be available to answer questions.
The door prize was generously donated by Airborne Precision Imaging-Arizona, a Tucson based FAA 333 authorized sUAS company.
