Mark Lambert, from Aerial Engagements will discuss a new MeetUp group he has started called "Valley Independent CFI's and Pilots". The group exists to amplify the voices of the independent flight instructors and their students and certificated pilots in the Phoenix, Arizona Valley and is free to join. Many flight instructors not affiliated with schools have limited access to training assets, or support and mentorship from other CFI's. As well as many pilots and students in the valley have limited or no knowledge of the benefits or training opportunities provided by the many independent CFI's nor how to find them. Mark says that "By banding together, we can create a network that strengthens the scope and quality of training opportunities for all of us". Attendance is open to all certificated pilots, CFI's, student pilots, and pilot want-a-be's.
Following, Mark will also discuss in general the many benefits and opportunities associated with simulator training. Aviation Training Devices available to GA pilots have come a long way in recent years and offer realism from glider to twin engine that are FAA certified, and will help certificated pilots, students, and their instructors to log training time at a fraction of the cost of aircraft rental. Some simulators, as those at Aerial Engagement are situated in private rooms with enough space for the instructor to sit next to the pilot or student as they would in the airplane, or the instructor can sit at a separate instructor station outside the training room complete with monitors that mimics what the pilot is doing in the training room, and ability to communicate via head sets. Mark emphasizes that Aerial Engagements is not a flight school and does not instruct pilots or have airplanes, but instead provides a setting and the technology centered around the needs of valley pilots, independent CFI's and their students. Mark says, "You bring your own curricula, instructor/student and training goals, they provide the environment and technology".
As time allows, following the presentation we will conclude with our "question of the month ", and a scenario safety discussion.
EAA/VMC Club, through the EAA's global Chapter structure, provides organized "hangar flying" focused on building flying knowledge and skills. The program's network promotes a safety culture through continued education and believes that we develop safety and proficiency through education and real life experience. Monthly meetings offer an opportunity to share in-flight experiences and valuable safety tips. Through the FAA Safety Program, aviation professionals provide informative WINGS presentations. Membership in theEAA/VMC Club is encouraged but not required to participate in this meeting. For more information and to take part in this event, click the link below and register TODAY!

What is the EAA/VMC Club?
The EAA/VMC Club is modeled after the popular IMC Club concept which provides organized “hangar flying” focused on building proficiency in instrument flying. The EAA/VMC Club will do the same, but for pilots who are not instrument rated and fly primarily under visual flight rules and VMC.
What is the purpose of EAA/VMC Club?
At EAA/VMC Club, our aim is to promote VFR flying, proficiency, and safety. Along with monthly local meetings, we offer a resource-rich website which provides an electronic experience base.
Our intent is to create a community of pilots to share information, provide recognition, foster communications, promote safety and build proficiency in general aviation. EAA/VMC Club offers monthly meetings in which pilots can network and share knowledge and experiences.
Do you need to bring anything?
First, bring your thoughts or story and be willing to share them with the group. This meeting is very interactive. Participation by the group is a fundamental element of the EAA/VMC Club meeting.
Others have found it helpful to bring along a copy of their flight manual, GPS manual, and charts. If you navigate with an iPad, bring it along.
Who can attend?
This meeting is open to all current, non-current, and future pilots.
