January 31, 2026 -- Lake Havasu, Arizona (airport KHII) -- 10:30am-11am arrival time.

RSVP HERE
Greetings everyone! For our first day trip in 2026, we’ll be heading back to Lake Havasu. Last January, we kicked off our 2025 Day Trips with a lunch flight to Lake Havasu. It was a great success, with pilots coming from 3 states and over 30 people in attendance.
For those of you who haven’t been to Lake Havasu airport, there is a great restaurant on the field. Hangar 24 Craft Brewing sells their own craft beers, and it is also a great restaurant for lunch and dinner. Hangar 24 opens for lunch at 11:00am, so we’ll plan to arrive at KHII at 10:30 - 11:00am and then walk over to the restaurant. It’s particularly important to RSVP if you plan to attend, as the restaurant has requested a headcount prior to our arrival.
A unique aspect of Lake Havasu is the London Bridge. In 1968, entrepreneur Robert McCulloch purchased the London Bridge from the City of London. He then had the bridge dismantled, transported from London to Lake Havasu, and rebuilt to its original form (taking three years in the process). The bridge is only 7 miles south of the Lake Havasu airport and makes for a great photo opportunity if your passenger has a camera handy.
As always, be sure to thoroughly preflight both yourself and your aircraft. And do a thorough flight planning as would be required for any cross-country flight. KHII can sometimes experience windy conditions (especially in the Spring months, but can happen anytime).
KHII is a non-tower-controlled airport, so pilots should review Advisory Circular 90-66C for proper operation in non-towered airports.
