APA Day Trip Coordinator
January’s APA Day trip to Lake Havasu was a great success. 37 pilots and passengers made the flight and enjoyed great weather (both perfect temperatures and CALM winds!). APA members came from all parts of Arizona to meet up for a great lunch at the Hanger 24 restaurant. We also had several pilots from the Phoenix 99’s join us, as well as a few pilots from the Las Vegas area who saw our fly-out plans to come to Havasu.
Since our day trip groups are growing larger, I’ve received several great suggestions from day trip participants including having APA nametags to easily spot other APA members and make remembering names easier (something I can truly understand!). There are also suggestions to circulate a list of day trip participants ahead of the flight so that members can use the get-togethers to connect with other pilots based at specific airports or fly similar aircraft. These are all great suggestions which should make our day trip events even better.
Thanks again to everyone that participated in the Havasu day trip and we’ll look forward to seeing you at Tombstone February 22!
