2025 may wildfire avoidance for aviators

A dry winter in southern Arizona and New Mexico has increased the wildfire danger earlier than normal. I am sending out Wildfire Avoidance materials to alert aviators about the possibility of encountering firefighting aircraft at wildfires throughout southern Arizona. The materials have been updated with new information. If you would post the attached documents on your website for  your members, I would appreciate it.

The Tucson Interagency Dispatch Center coordinates aerial firefighting activities on federal lands in most of southern Arizona. If I can answer any questions about wildfire aircraft operations or NOTAMS related to firefighting, feel free to reach out.

Also for your members: there will be taxiway and runway improvements commencing at KFHU soon. Runways 12/30, 08/26, and some of the taxiways at the airport will be effected by the construction.
